How to Plan a Group Campus Tour for Las Vegas’s Top Colleges

Perfect weather, endless sunshine, and a vibrant energy that’s a world away from the snowy mountains of Reno—who wouldn’t want to attend college in Las Vegas? And if you’re planning a group tour for students who have their sights set on Nevada’s most populated city, you’ve come to the right place. Keep in mind, though, that Las Vegas is known for a few things that may throw your group’s itinerary off track: heavy traffic, sparse parking, and an overabundance of casinos, nightclubs, and entertainment districts that aren’t exactly high school-friendly.

That’s where Partybus.com comes in! Whether your group needs a speedy minibus shuttle between campuses, a full-sized charter bus for a few dozen student-athletes and their coaches, or a custom fleet to accommodate your entire senior class and chaperones, we’ve got a private ride for you. Plus, with comfy seats, onboard restrooms for those who drank a little too much coffee at the hotel continental breakfast, and entertainment amenities like flat-screen TVs and WiFi to keep your students occupied between college stops, the ride will be just as enjoyable as the campuses. Just give our reservation specialists a call at 877-563-2133 to receive a personalized quote tailored to your unique travel needs.

University of Nevada-Las Vegas

Tuition: $9,143 (in-state) $26,099 (out-of-state)

Enrollment: 25,365

What started as a small college in 1957 now draws in 30,000 students from across Nevada, the U.S., and the world—all of whom are eager to experience life in a city unlike any other. As Nevada’s largest university and a respected R1 research institution, the University of Nevada-Las Vegas offers a robust roster of undergraduate and graduate degree programs, as well as access to 16 colleges and schools with over 300 majors.

Students can pick and choose from the university’s expansive catalog of programs to specialize in arts, sciences, engineering, business, law, education, hospitality, medicine, or a blend of those interests. (The university also offers an acclaimed dental school—a popular draw for prospective students.) Those who can’t be on campus or who want to work while they study can enroll in nearly 20 online programs, including a doctoral program in nursing—one of six doctoral degrees offered online. No matter what they’re interested in, your prospective students will find it here!

The university welcomes students with a minimum weighted 3.0 GPA in core high school subjects, a combined SAT score of 1120, an ACT composite score of 22, or a Nevada Advanced Diploma. Other students, such as transfer students with at least 24 transfer credits and a minimum GPA of 2.5, can also apply through a streamlined process. All prospective students are encouraged to visit the UNLV Office of Admissions website to explore the admissions and registration process in greater detail.

Nevada State College

Tuition: $6,225 (in-state) $19,964 (out-of-state)

Enrollment: 7,158

Nevada State College may be young—the school first opened its doors to students in 2002—but it’s quickly becoming a beloved institution for local students and educators alike. With a convenient location in Henderson (Nevada’s second-largest city) and an affordable tuition, it’s an excellent college for students who don’t want to commute to a big city campus every day. The college’s focus on smaller class sizes (about 20 students per class) also makes it a great choice for students who may feel overwhelmed in a lecture hall filled with hundreds of their fellow classmates.

NSC primarily focuses on educating teachers, nurses, and students of liberal arts and sciences. In addition to over two dozen majors in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences—such as environmental and resource studies and deaf studies—it also offers a variety of pre-professional programs for those who want to continue their education. NSC also boasts Nevada’s only accredited bachelor’s degree program for those seeking to become speech-language pathologists—a major draw for many students.

First-year students with a minimum 2.5 unweighted high school GPA and eligible ACT or SAT scores can apply. First-generation college students may also qualify for NSC’s four-year support program, which includes mentoring, internship opportunities, and financial aid.
